Land successes

New opportunities wanted

“Lifestory recently published our ambitions to create 5,000 homes over the next five years. The Rectory is part of our strategic growth plans and will create 54 apartments located in the heart of England.”

Mike Gill, Lifestory Regional Managing Director

Pegasus acquire new opportunities

We are pleased to announce that Pegasus has recently agreed the acquisition of a 1.4-acre site in Solihull, which includes the Old St Alphege Rectory with Church of England Birmingham. A planning application has now been submitted where we hope to create 54 apartments across one and two-bedroom homes along with a guest suite and communal lounge.

Throughout the entire design process, we have placed a great emphasis on preserving the history of the land, which led to the decision to retain the existing Rectory building. The proposed apartments will meet the growing need for local people over 60 wishing to downsize yet remain fully independent within a like-minded community. In addition, we have carefully considered the neighbours and wider community to ensure the plan brings many other local benefits.

The South & South West team has also exchanged on a new site in Maidenhead, Berkshire to provide 42 new Pegasus homes to the local community whilst London & South East has acquired a new opportunity in Chertsey with the aim of creating 30 new Pegasus homes.

Lymington gets the green light

Planning permission has been granted for 44 age-exclusive apartments situated in the coastal town of Lymington. This new community will create much-needed housing in the New Forest and help meet the housing needs of the local area, bringing with it a positive social, economic and environmental contribution. The design has been carefully considered with great efforts and attention being applied to the layout as well as the appearance to ensure it sits comfortably within the local area and respects its surroundings, whilst the location of the site is perfectly situated for all the town has to offer.

A kick start at Wooburn Green

Following the appointment of our main contractor, Stepnell, work has started to create our new £9.7 million independent living community for over 60s in Wooburn Green, High Wycombe. The four-storey building, which is due to complete in August 2022, will be home to 44 apartments, a communal lounge, and landscaped areas for our future customers aged over 60 to enjoy. As well as bringing economic benefits, the project will help the community to reduce its carbon footprint following Stepnell’s installation of ground source heat pumps and nonconventional gas boilers, which will provide our customers with access to sustainably sourced utilities.

In line with our ambition to create over 5,000 much needed new homes for all ages, we are currently seeking further land opportunities for development. For more information about these land requirements or if you have a site in mind then we would love to hear from you: [email protected]
